Butterflies are not only beautiful insects that enhance the beauty of nature, but also valuable indicators that help assess the condition of the environment and the health of natural ecosystems.
More than 100 species of butterflies inhabit the territory of the Almaty State Nature Reserve. Among them are several rare species listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including:
