Scientists from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University—Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor B.E. Shimshikov, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor G.A. Mukanova, Senior Lecturer A.A. Oshakbay—together with specialists of the Almaty State Nature Reserve, carried out a morphological soil survey in areas where the wild Sievers apple (Malus sieversii) naturally grows.

In accordance with Telephone Message No. 27-07-11/1668-И dated June 22, 2026, issued by the Committee of Forestry and Wildlife of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, intensified public awareness and outreach activities were carried out in the territory of the Almaty State Nature Reserve due to the high and extreme fire danger level (Class IV–V).

Our speakers reminded participants that mountains are a potentially hazardous environment where specific safety rules must always be followed. The event also featured engaging hands-on workshops conducted by specialists from the Center for Disaster Medicine and the Almaty Rescue Service. Participants learned how to apply splints, provide first aid for bleeding injuries, and safely carry an injured person.
