Camera traps installed in the large gorges of the Almaty State Nature Reserve have captured images of snow leopard cubs. These rare shots reveal special moments of the secret life of wildlife.
The cubs play carefree with one another, imitate their mother’s movements, and develop the skills necessary for hunting. In this way, they gradually prepare for independent life in their natural habitat.
The irbis, or snow leopard, is listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan and is classified among rare and endangered predators. Its appearance on camera traps together with its cubs indicates the preservation of the natural environment within the reserve and the presence of favorable conditions for wildlife habitation.
