
Almaty State Nature Reserve is one of the oldest nature reserves in Kazakhstan. It operates with the aim of protecting the unique natural environment of the Trans-Ili Alatau, as well as rare species of plants and animals. The reserve is home to rare animals such as the snow leopard, the Tien Shan brown bear, and the Turkestan lynx. Conservation of natural ecosystems, scientific research, and environmental education are among the main objectives of the reserve.
