The Alatau crocus (Crocus alatavicus) is one of the first flowers to herald the arrival of warm and sunny spring and is not demanding of weather conditions. Within the reserve, it grows on large gravelly slopes — from the foothills to the upper boundary of the forest belt, including shrub thickets.
