AN ENVIRONMENTAL CAMPAIGN “FIND ANIMAL TRACKS” WAS HELD IN THE ALMATY STATE NATURE RESERVE

The purpose of the event was to introduce school students to the life activities of wild animals, teach them how to identify animal tracks, and foster a respectful attitude toward nature. During the campaign, specialists explained methods for identifying the tracks of mammals and birds and provided information about the specific features of the reserve’s ecosystem.

THE FIRST SNOWDROPS HAVE BLOOMED IN THE TERRITORY OF THE ALMATY STATE NATURE RESERVE

The Alatau crocus (Crocus alatavicus) is one of the first flowers to herald the arrival of warm and sunny spring and is not demanding of weather conditions. Within the reserve, it grows on large gravelly slopes — from the foothills to the upper boundary of the forest belt, including shrub thickets.
